Recovery at Walden Living
At Walden, we are not about treatment and we don’t do therapy. We coach you in preparing for life. We want you to feel ready and find success in independent living.

Manage Your Budget
Living on a budget is something we all have to learn and practice. At Walden, we can teach you how and coach you through managing a budget for your daily life.
Volunteer at the Delafield Library
Give back to the community while gaining independent work experience. The Delafield Library offers volunteer opportunities for a few hours each week. Tasks include stocking shelves, checking out books, and straightening books and magazines. Additionally, the library offers our residents library cards as temporary residents of Delafield.
Cook Your Favorite Homemade Meal
Learning to cook can be a fun way to gain independence. We love it when people have a favorite meal they want to learn how to cook. We can walk you through a recipe or just be with you for support as you learn your way around the kitchen.
Take a Class at the YMCA
A healthy relationship with exercise and activity is important for both physical and mental health. The YMCA offers residents of Walden a half-price 2-month membership. In addition to the gym, they offer an abundance of classes and other activities.
Work at the Downtown Coffee Shop
Gain work experience while learning about time management and responsibility. We have a brand new coffee shop that is always looking for people to bus tables and work behind the counter as baristas.
Find an Adventure
Every Saturday we host an outing for residents. These outings include new activities, such as rock climbing, or established favorites of the group. We focus on creating adventures that challenge in a fun, enjoyable setting.
